Mathematics Teacher 2022-2023

Freeport High School

We are seeking a full time Mathematics Teacher at Freeport High School who will provide rigorous, high-quality instruction and support to our students. Candidates must be able to teach a range of math courses as well as have experience in a high school setting. Experience with working with English-language learners in math is preferred. Experience with proficiency-based practices is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must hold a current Mathematics certification in the State of Maine.

2. Bachelor’s degree (four year) from an accredited institution.

3. Minimum of two-year classroom teaching experience preferred as well as experience with proficiencybased instructional strategies.

4. Experience in a high school setting and in a range of math courses required.

5. Completed fingerprinting in accordance with school requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to create and maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, and parents.

2. Ability to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain high quality instruction and student support.

3. Demonstrates sound judgment and effective communication skills.

4. Ability to be reflective on instructional practices in order to enhance student achievement.

5. Fulfills all performance responsibilities of a Math Teacher in both a traditional and alternative school setting.

Requirements:

300S- Mathematics Teacher Certification from Maine Dept. of Education.
